Big news! Publishing agreement signed!
Announcing Kevin Carver's debut novel to be released through Provender Press
I am beyond thrilled to share the news that my debut novel, The Forbidden Parallel, has found its home with an amazing indie publisher, Provender Press, based out of Portland, OR. There is no formal release date yet, but the novel is expected to hit bookstores in the first half of 2025.
A few of you who have followed this journey for a little while might notice there’s been a slight title change from The “Final” Parallel to The “Forbidden” Parallel. It was pointed out to me that the first book in a trilogy should probably not have the word “final” in the title. I think you could argue either way, but I realized I could save the word “final” for the third book in the trilogy.
Anyway, here we are with a new title: The Forbidden Parallel.
Writing this novel has been a twisty, turny, transformative journey. At its heart it’s a dystopian science fantasy story with a simple revenge plot. But the book opened up some channels in my brain that allowed me to explore themes and worlds that have lived in my imagination, but were perhaps a bit dormant due to the passages of life (good and bad) that got in the way of creativity and storytelling. Forgive the cliche, but I poured my heart and soul into this book, and it feels surreal to think that, soon(ish), readers will be able to hold it in their hands and embark on this journey with me.
Provender Press has been the perfect partner for this project. Their dedication to nurturing unique voices and their commitment to high-quality storytelling is inspiring. I am honored to join their roster of talented authors and to be part of such a vibrant literary community. Their passion for my story and their expertise have already proved invaluable, and I am confident that my novel is in the best hands.
As I look ahead to 2025, my excitement continues to grow. I can't wait for you all to meet the characters I've created and to get lost in the world of Arou. To swim in the Sea of Cashmu. To climb Sor’s Crown. To reach for that forbidden Parallel.
Thank you again to everyone who has been part of this journey. Your encouragement and support have meant the world to me. Here's to the next chapter – I can't wait to share it with you all!
PS: Did I mention I’ll be releasing a companion album of music, which I’m calling the official “Soundtrack to the Novel”? More details on that soon!
Stay creative, my friends… Oh, and Happy 4th of July. :)
