On the Radio, On the Road
Radio appearances, in-person events, and parties — the latest from Kevin Carver
Hi friends! It’s been a minute since I updated you all, forgive my delay.
Quick Recap
First and foremost, in case you missed it, The Forbidden Parallel is out now! You can find it at the online retailers listed below. Fun fact: if you prefer to purchase from your local bookshop in person, you can ask for it by name, and they can now order it!
Bookshop.org (on sale!)

Oh, did I mention the original 12-song Soundtrack to the Novel is now streaming globally and that the vinyl pre-order is live? No? Well, now you know. So far, people from 9 countries have streamed the soundtrack. How cool is that?
Radio Interviews
I had the honor of appearing on not one but TWO radio programs in the last two weeks. The first aired last week. If you missed it and would like to hear me panic through some fairly difficult questions, don’t sweat it. You can now listen the segment here: Dave Congalton’s Hometown Radio. Over the course of an hour, Dave and I discussed writing, genre storytelling, and he even played a sample of the soundtrack on air, which was SO COOL.
The second interview hasn’t aired yet and is scheduled for July 21 on KCBX’s program, Issues & Ideas. Brian Reynolds and I chatted about oppression, power, and corruption, all those heavy themes readers of my debut novel will be familiar with.
I got to read an excerpt of the book on both programs. Talk about pressure! It was fun though. And good practice. I survived (relatively) unscathed and honestly hope I get to do some more.

On the Road
On the Road isn’t just one of the world’s best novels, it’s also what I’m doing currently. I’m writing this from a Motel 6 outside Bend, OR. I’ll be visiting family before fitting in two events in the Pacific Northwest.
July 19: Mac Minicon
If you’re near Portland, OR, join me and fellow Provender Press author
at Mac Minicon. Mac Minicon is a celebration of science fiction, fantasy, and visionary creativity through stories, art, history, games, science, and ideas. All humans are welcome. Learn more here: macminicon.org.July 30: Spokane Release Party for The Forbidden Parallel
If you’re near Spokane, WA, join me at Lumberbeard Brewing (one of the best breweries on this quadrant of the galaxy, in my humble opinion) for a release party. I used to live in Spokane and wanted to do something for all my friends and family in the Inland Northwest. Learn more here: kevincarver.com/events

That’s all for now! Thanks friends. Hope to see you on the road soon.
PS: If you’ve read the book, don’t forget to leave a review online. It helps us debut authors more than you know.
